02-25-2003VCG promotes Steve Taylor to President as founder Mark Van Laeke transitions to Chairman of the Board.
ATLANTA, GA February 25, 2003 VCG Inc., the developer of StaffSuite and WebPAS software solutions for leading staffing companies, today announced the promotion of Steve Taylor to President of the firm, along with other promotions and transitions. Company founder Mark Van Laeke commented that, For the last nine years VCG has been my sole focus, with virtually every waking hour spent determining ways to grow the company, maximize our resources and expand our market share. Leading VCG through two successful product launches and a merger that brought together the giants in the industry has been an exciting and invigorating experience, one that most people never get an opportunity to take part in, let alone be successful doing. In planning for VCGs continued growth, I felt it was time to reward some of the talented and deserving members of our management team with hard earned promotions. These promotions are possible due to my decision to transition my role at VCG from CEO to Chairman of the Board of Directors. In the Chairman role, I will continue to push VCGs future in the areas of product strategy, mergers/acquisitions, alliances, financial investments and oversight of the companys direction.
The first promotion announced is that of Steve Taylor, formerly the Vice President of Operations and Support, to the office of President. Taylor joined the VCG team with the Caldwell-Spartin merger, where he was Director of Operations. He has over 17 years experience in the software industry, with 12 years in management positions. Previously Taylor worked with Sales Technologies (a Dunn and Bradstreet Company) in various positions, and HBOC. Steve has shown a great commitment and passion for VCG and brings excellent operational, customer service, sales and overall management skills to the new role, stated Van Laeke. I will be working with Steve over the next few weeks to help facilitate the transition of my tactical and operational duties.
In addition to Taylors promotion, three other VCG staff members will take on other duties. David McCullough, formerly the Manager of Consulting Services, will step into the role of Director of Operations with responsibility for Support, Consulting and Migrations. Anne Bailey moves up to Director of Finance and Administration from her position as Controller, and Micki Marvin will assume added responsibilities as the Manager of Systems and Application Support. David and Anne join Steve and the other members of VCGs senior management team, Dennis Templin, Vice-President of Development and Bob Henry, COO and Senior Vice-President, both of whom will continue in their current roles.
Chairman Van Laeke concluded the announcements, saying, The Board of Directors, our investors and myself are very confident in this management teams ability to lead VCG into the future. As Chairman of the Board, I look forward to working with Steve, Dennis, and Bob at the regular board meeting and the entire management team on a periodic basis. With the solid financial foundation that is now in place, the management teams knowledge of the customers and the industry, and a proven track record for developing innovative products, this team will lead VCG to newer and greater heights.
