Start-Up Staffing Firm Achieves $7 Million in First Year Revenue with VCG’s StaffSuite

Exceeds 6-month Revenue Goal by 79% with Integrated System

Kable Staffing Resources, LLC (formerly Resource One Staffing), an Ohio-based blended services staffing firm, opened its doors on July 17, 2006. Besides having to deal with the normal challenges of establishing a new business, Kable operates in an extremely competitive market with more than 20 staffing firms within a five square mile radius. Jena Satchell, Vice President of Operations, wanted to change the perception of the staffing industry locally through her value proposition of providing clients with the very best associates to work with and placing the highest quality candidates.

Jena Satchell, VP and Partner, Resource One, credits StaffSuite staffing software for first year $7 Million revenue"When we opened our office, we had estimated $800,000 in sales revenue from mid-July to the end of the year. We actually achieved $1,430,000 due in part to the operating efficiencies StaffSuite provided us – we exceeded our revenue projections by 79 percent."

Satchell, an industry veteran, knew from experience that to deliver on her value proposition she would have to have the right recruiting and operational tools in place before opening the doors. That meant having a fully integrated and easily scalable staffing software solution that would support her vision. After a rigorous selection process, Satchell selected VCG's StaffSuite® staffing software to run her new business.

And how has StaffSuite performed under the challenge?

"When we opened our office, we had estimated $800,000 in sales revenue from mid-July to the end of the year. We actually achieved $1,430,000 due in part to the operating efficiencies StaffSuite provided us – we exceeded our revenue projections by 79 percent," said Satchell. What’s more, by the end of their first year in business, they had hit $7 million in total revenue!

Candidate quality and speed of service delivery have been critical to the success of their operation Satchell added, "We went from being a secondary vendor to a primary vendor in just four weeks with one client because we could provide the most qualified candidates quicker than our competition. Because of this, the client increased its flexible workforce projections for the year by more than 150 percent."

Satchell was also impressed with StaffSuite's ease-of-use, comprehensive functionality as well as its front and back office integration. Her previous experience with a front office only product had revealed its significant limitations versus a fully-integrated system such as StaffSuite.

With a growth-oriented vision in place, another major deciding factor for Satchell was VCG's SaaS (Software as a Service) deployment option for StaffSuite. In the SaaS model, VCG provides the StaffSuite staffing software application on VCG's servers with full maintenance and support so that Kable Staffing Resources can focus on what they do best – recruiting and sales. The SaaS model also gives customers unlimited scalability with the ability to rapidly add users or branch operations as needed.

"The cost savings have been great – VCG manages and hosts our StaffSuite solution and I don't have to worry about an IT staff while I continue to focus on growing my business. We plan on opening two more offices this summer – one in Columbus and one in Dayton," said Satchell.

With their aggressive growth plans, it's easy to see that Kable Staffing Resources will not stay a small operation for long. Satchell attributes much of the projected growth to the ongoing professional development and opportunity available for everyone who works at Kable Staffing Resources.

One such initiative has the entire staff training for eight hours on Saturdays to receive their certified staffing professional (CSP) designation from the American Staffing Association (ASA). Additionally, Satchell makes sure that 'hot topic' training is covered on everything from injuries and risk management to I-9s and immigration laws.

Most impressive is her desire to give back to her associates who she says hold the keys to the firm's future success.

"As we continue to grow, some of my associates will probably be running an office or possibly a division or region. Every person who works here has unlimited potential for growth," says Satchell.

With its impressive growth, revenue projections and dedicated staff, it's easy to see that Kable Staffing Resources' first year success will continue well into the future.
